AssociatesI have invited these practitioners to join me on this site because I know their work from my roles as a trainer and supervisor of people in the helping professions and from the feedback I get from the people and organisations who use their services. They are based in Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex and for training and consultancy work they are open to travelling in the UK and further afield. Finding a name on a register or directory or in Yellow Pages seems to me to be a hit and miss way to start off what may be a very important journey for you or your organisation. What the people on this site have in common is a high level of professional ability, real integrity, and a passionate commitment to helping people to find creative and constructive ways of recognising and dealing with their problems and living happier and healthier lives. They are interesting and engaging people who bring a wealth of life experience and learning to their work and believe that much of the success of educational and therapeutic interventions lies in the relationship between the teacher/therapist and their student/client. Of course just having good intentions and life experience is not enough, you need much more than that to be an effective helper, but techniques alone are rarely transformative. As Martin Buber says "I am for methods, without them I am a dilettante-but just to use them not believe in them". Stephen Richards
